iz4.you · identity

One O. Every scale.

The mark is a square ring holding a square. Its band is 11 percent of its size, its corners 17, and the square inside is exactly the share a QR code takes up inside a badge. The bottom band carries the name, iz4.you, and the dot in that name is the same O again, holding the square. The favicon, the wordmark and the badge are one drawing. So is this website: you are reading it inside the O.

Full rules: BRAND.md. Files are served from /brand/. The distinctive element, and the one to protect, is the name in the band with its dot drawn as the O; the ring on its own is a finder pattern.

How it works

1 · the IZ4 badge: the O around a project's code
2 · its band: iz4.you
3 · its dot: the O again
4 · inside the dot: the square

Every level is the same picture: an O holding something worth keeping. At the top the square is a real QR code, which leads to the project's card. Inside the dot it is the mark's own square, and the drawing ends there. That is the whole idea in one punctuation mark: the O in iz4.you is Invariant Zero™, and it holds the thing you care about.

Up to 64 px the band is plain: a ring and a square. From 16 to 32 px the small variant is used, snapped to a 16 grid so every edge lands on a pixel. From 128 px the band carries the name. The favicon is the plain mark; app icons and stickers from 128 px use the worded one.

The wordmark the dot is the O

Inter Tight SemiBold, outlined, set as iz4.you with the dot replaced by the mark: 30 percent of cap height, sitting on the baseline, holding the square. The name is the whole wordmark; there is no separate lockup, though the iz4-lockup files remain as copies so older layouts keep working. Never set the name in a live font: the dot would be a dot.

The IZ4 badge the O around a project's code

the template: green is the quiet zone and the code area

The register mints the badge around the QR code of a project's card, in SVG and PNG, from these exact numbers. The code keeps a five-module quiet zone inside the band, one more than it needs, so the rounded inner corner never touches it. Only a registered project gets a badge, and it certifies one thing: a valid IZ4 exists for the project's current revision. A project that merely carries an IZ4 file may show the mark, never the badge.

Colour, type, space

Marks are one colour: black on light, white on dark. Never the accent, never a gradient.
Palette for the surfaces around them: navy #0b1220, cool white #f6f8fb, ink #1c2433, accent terminal green #17a05b (links and buttons only).
Type: Inter Tight for display and the wordmark, Inter for body, JetBrains Mono for code and labels.
Clear space: one band width on every side of the mark, the wordmark and the badge.
Minimum sizes: mark 16 px; wordmark 18 px cap height, so the dot still reads as the O; badge 96 px on screen, 25 mm in print, so the code scans. The band word appears from 128 px.
Geometry: band 11, corners 17, square 55.7, band word 66 percent of the band, the dot 30 percent of cap height. One definition, in docs/build_brand.py, draws everything.
