Intent, held in alignment.

The diamond holds what the software is for. The people around it keep it true. That is the whole mark: four people holding hands, seen from above. Four small hollow diamonds stand at the corners; a closed inner band binds them; along each side an outer band runs from one figure toward the next and meets its neighbour's at the middle. The diamond space they hold is empty in the trade mark drawing, green on the site, and carries a real code in a live badge. The mark never changes.

The diamond at the centre is what the software is for: your own named invariants. Empty in the trade mark drawing, green on the site, a real code in a live badge; nothing else ever goes there.

The four figures and their bands are the foundation, keeping it true. Never draw the people: the reading is the viewer's discovery; the geometry stays pure.

One rule of proportion. Every dimension is a golden-ratio step from the stroke, and every edge is at 45 degrees.

Stroke 11. Corner loop half-diagonal 28.8 (stroke × φ²); diamond 122 (loop × φ³); the gap between the bands, and at the hands, 4.2 (stroke ÷ φ²); the loops stand proud of the corners by one stroke; the green diamond 46.6 (diamond ÷ φ²). On a 400 viewBox the device spans 324 units. Fills only: no strokes, gradients, shadows, text or pictograms in the device.

Lowercase, drawn as outlines, never set in a font; the i's dot is a green diamond standing clear of its stem, so the word never reads as lz4. Write the product as IZ4 in prose, and iz4 for the wordmark, the domain and the CLI.

The master from 48 px up; the lockup from 96 px wide. Below that use the favicon: a 16-grid cut, the ring with four corner dots and the green centre, never a code. Clear space around the master is at least one corner loop, about 9 % of the device, on every side.

Every project's pill lives at /p/<id>/badge.svg and says what its card says, from the same calculation. The green diamond is the token, not a miniature of the device, and with it the words "we use iz4" appear only while the project's badge is issued and its evidence shows the declaration present with a passing syntax check. Otherwise the pill carries an empty diamond and the card's own words. There is no pill that says "we use iz4" on its own: a pill is always a project's.

The live badge functional, not the trade mark

A badge is the master with a real QR code rotated in the centre where the green diamond sits, at least four modules of quiet zone around it, and the whole badge is a link to the same address the code encodes: the project's public card. Show it at 280 CSS px or wider, and check every real one on real phones at the size it will be seen. Its accessible label is "View this project's IZ4 declaration". A badge indicates that a public declaration exists. It is not proof, certification or assurance, and copy must never say it is.

Colour, type, files

Ink, paper and one green. Ink #1c1a17 on paper #f5f1e8, or paper on ink with the green unchanged. In the mark, green #1f9156 is on the centre diamond and the i's dot only: never on the bands or the corner figures. On the site the same green is the one accent, for links, buttons and hover states. No tints, no gradients, no second accent.

Type: Inter Tight for display, Inter for body, JetBrains Mono for file text and commands. The wordmark is drawn, never typed.

Never: a person, heart, lock, shield, hand, tick or arrow; letters inside the device; colour on the bands or figures; one element thicker or thinner than the rest; rounded corners; a twist or over-under in the bands; pillars, plinths, tiled borders or the earlier knot; a code at favicon sizes.
